A body of a young man with a left wrist butchered was found tied to an overturned police barricade at the farmer’s protest site on the Singhu border on Friday.
According to the official reports, DSP Hansraj stated that at around 5 am on October 15, a body was found hanging with hands, legs chopped off at the spot where farmers’ protest is underway in Kundli, Sonipat. He also informed that videos of the murder were a matter of probe and that rumours will linger. Further, no arrests have been made so far.
According to police the young is 35 (or 36)-year-old Lakhbir Singh from Tam Taran district. He is the adopted son of Harnam Singh and, a labourer by profession, he is survived by a sister, a wife and three daughters, the eldest of whom is just 12 years old.
The reports suggest that Nihangs – a ‘warrior’ Sikh group – are being blamed for the brutal and sickening murder, which took place in Kundli in Haryana’s Sonipat district. Nihangs beat Lakhbir Singh to death for allegedly desecrating the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikhs’ holy book. They then hung the body on the police barricade and cut off the wrist.
Further, the Sonipat police came by and cut down the body and immediately took it to the Civil Hospital.
