In honor of the late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, a prominent independence warrior, leader of Prajamandal, and former deputy chief minister of the state, the Odisha government named the bridge over the Brahmani River near Kaniha in the Angul district “Pabitra Mohan Setu” today. Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister, gave his approval to the initiative.
It is important to note that on July 11, while 5T Secretary VK Pandian was visiting Talcher, the people asked that the bridge erected across the Brahmani River be named in honor of the late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan. As a result, the State government gave this bridge the name of Late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, a former deputy chief minister and one of the tallest leaders of the Prajamandal movement.
It is pertinent to mention here that this 511-metre-long bridge which connects Shiling with Talpada road has been built at a cost of Rs 45.79 crore.
