During a meeting with top health department representatives on Tuesday at the Lok Seva Bhavan in this city, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena reviewed the current Dengue scenario in Odisha.
Besides senior BMC officials, other attendees included the Principal Secretary of H&UD, Secretary of H&FW, Municipal Commissioner, MD, NHM Odisha, and Director of I&PR.
The Chief Secretary expressed his satisfaction with the steps taken by the Health Department and BMC to avoid Dengue while taking note of the existing state of affairs. Despite an increase in testing, he noted that the test positive rate is modest compared to the previous year and that things are in check.
Jena emphasised more on creating public awareness through IEC activities and instructed all concerned to be in readiness with blood, platelets and medicines to face all eventuality.
