Brijendra Pratap Singh assumes the role of CMD at NALCO

Before joining NALCO, Singh served as the Director-in-Charge of Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plants and was a board member of SAIL. With over 35 years of experience in the mining and steel industries, his strategic vision and in-depth expertise played a crucial role in advancing SAIL’s modernization initiatives, contributing to the growth and sustainability of India’s steel sector in line with the National Steel Policy.

Singh graduated in Mining Machinery Engineering from IIT Dhanbad (formerly ISM Dhanbad) in 1989 and also holds an MBA in Marketing. He began his career in the steel industry at the Iron Ore Mine of Bhilai Steel Plant in 1989 and has held key positions in both operations and leadership at four of SAIL’s integrated steel plants: BSP (Bhilai Steel Plant), BSL (Bokaro Steel Limited), DSP (Durgapur Steel Plant), and ISP (IISCO Steel Plant). His extensive expertise covers areas such as mining, blast furnace operations, sinter plant, maintenance, and plant operations.

Singh’s appointment is expected to significantly enhance NALCO’s expansion efforts and new projects, according to an official statement from the company.
