To stop the threat, the Union Government intends to implement a Unique Identity system for students. Anil Sahasrabudhe, the chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF), made this statement while speaking with the media today outside of the third Education Working Group (EdWG) meeting of the G20.
The creation of an education ecosystem registry is urgently required. He suggested giving each pupil an own identity based on their Aadhaar number.
In addition to saving all of a student’s information in one location, the unique identity will allow them to avoid filling out admissions papers while transferring to different educational institutions within the same state or outside of it. Through the technique, it is also possible to determine a student’s sincerity.
The website has posted the planned system’s draft materials for user comment until May 5. Registration will start in August, and Unique ID and Aadhaar cards will be connected. According to him, this digitalization not only increases openness but also discourages the use of false credentials to obtain employment.
