Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw declared on Wednesday that the minimum support price (MSP) for fourteen Kharif crops has been approved by the Narendra Modi government. “The Cabinet meeting today resulted in the adoption of several crucial decisions. A significant decision has been made with the wellbeing of farmers in mind. As the Kharif season approaches, the Cabinet has authorised MSP for fourteen crops. At a press conference, Vaishnaw stated, “The new MSP for paddy is Rs 2,300, which is an increase of Rs117 over the old MSP.
The minister said, “PM Modi’s third term is very important as it focuses on continuity with change through many decisions for farmers’ welfare.”During the conference, he stated, “This is ₹35,000 crores more than the previous season.”
