1: How has been the journey of Oasis in Odisha?
The Oasis fertility, which is a unit of Sadguru healthcare private limited is mentored and nurtured by Dr Durga Rao, of Hyderabad who is the co-founder and chief fertility consultant of this group of hospitals. There are around 25 Oasis fertility hospitals providing services to childless couples in our country. The centre at Bhubaneswar has been functioning since March 2022.
2: What’s your opinion in regards to the status of women’s fertility in the state?
The prevalence of infertility is not restricted to females only, in fact, it is a common problem for couples. Both husband and wife are equally responsible, which means 50% of the infertility cases we see are due to male factors and another 50% are due to female factors. As far as the status of infertility in Odisha is concerned, it is the same as the national prevalence but there is less health care facility for such patients in our state.
3: How has Oasis placed its position in comparison to other similar hospitals in the field?
Oasis fertility is the number one fertility hospital chain in South India and one among the best few at the national level. Providing ethical-based and evidenced-based treatment at an affordable price is the key to our success.
4: Do you have any long-term plans to set up any exclusive Oasis fertility centre beyond Bhubaneswar?
Yes, we have a plan to have centres in other regional cities in our state, so that our service can reach closer to the people. Oasis is determined not only to give world-class healthcare services but also to provide employment to many people in our state.
5: There is a huge deficiency in nursing staff and other paramedical manpower in Odisha. How do you train your staffs?
Actually, there is a deficiency in skilled medical staffs. Hence to improve their efficiency and expertise, we send our staffs to Vijayawada and Hyderabad centres where they get training under the supervision of senior experts before they work at our centre.
6: Can you share your opinion by suggesting a few common tips on how to improve the fertility of women in particular?
The most important factor that affects fertility is the age of the female. Above the age of 30, the fertility decreases with each passing year and above 40 it is very less. Hence planning to bear a child should be done accordingly. Along with that, they should give more importance to a healthy lifestyle. Avoid weight gain, do regular exercises, consume healthy foods, avoid junk etc to keep your fertility strong. The same thing is applicable to men also.
7: Where do you see Oasis Odisha 10 years down the line?
Our purpose is to reach the nukes and corners of Odisha to provide affordable and world-class fertility services. Hence we see Oasis as a popular name among the people of our state who can come here for treatment with trust.
