Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a 25 per cent hike in the remuneration of employed persons through outsourcing and are on a contract basis in different departments of the Odisha Government.
According to the reports, this hike will benefit about 3,000 persons who are engaged in various departments of the Odisha Government. The state government will also bear an additional burden of Rs 100 crore every year for this move. An official statement informed that the concerned agency will bear the contribution of such employees in EPF and ESIC and the concerned department will ensure this.
The report further added that CM Patnaik directed the officials to take proper action against companies and agencies who neglects to pay the above fees and he also advised the concerned authorities to examine and take the necessary decision as soon as possible on maternity leave for women employees engaged in outsourcing and contract basis.
