Starting of an apocalypse ? Photos from China goes viral

The internet was taken aback when a few pictures and videos from China’s eastern port city of Zhoushan surfaced on social media platforms. The viral clips showed how the skies turned blood red over the weekend. The rare phenomenon created a panic among the residents as well. While some feared that there was an out-of-control fire raging nearby, others simply assumed it was heralding the apocalypse and many even thought it’s the new artificial sun China has been building.According to Global Times, the Zhoushan Meteorological Bureau explained the phenomenon, “When weather conditions are good, more water in the atmosphere forms aerosols which refract and scatter the light of fishing boats and create the red sky seen by the public.”However if it is something else and since it is China’s media, the real reason might not be known just like the Coronavirus’ origin.
Moreover, people compared the phenomenon to a 1770 incident where the sky turned red for nine days owing to major solar activity by Japanese scientists in a 2017 research article.
