CM Majhi Calls For Expansion Of People-Oriented Programmes

The extension of people-oriented programs across ministries was the main focus of a meeting of the Council of Ministers held Monday at Kharvela Bhavan, which was headed by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. All of the ministers, the chief secretary, the development commissioner, and deputy chief minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo were present at the meeting. The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of stepping up efforts to accomplish budgetary objectives for the fiscal year 2024–2025 at the departmental performance assessment. Low-spending departments were instructed to increase spending and concentrate on reaching all of their financial objectives prior to the next budget session.

In order to meet the changing requirements of the populace, the chief minister advised all departments to embrace creative thinking, go beyond conventional techniques, and put long-term plans into action. While praising departments for their advancements, he urged them to continue being watchful and aggressive in enhancing service delivery.

Health services, social security programs, rural drinking water supplies, infrastructure projects, and the advancement of major programs like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana were among the main topics discussed at the conference. Road and bridge development, school renovation projects, and the Agriculture Department’s establishment of cold storage facilities were all discussed.

The Chief Minister urged agencies to find and execute innovative projects and emphasized the significance of bolstering police services. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of the Vikshit Odisha Vision Document, which comprises 3.2 lakh public recommendations and advises authorities to choose the most significant ones for execution. Majhi also reaffirmed the government’s resolve to draw in investments and promote state development while discussing the forthcoming Utkarsh Odisha program. A request for cooperation to broaden public welfare programs and guarantee Odisha’s sustainable development was made at the end of the conference.
