Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said that his government had done as promised before the election, completing the Subhadra Yojana within a hundred days, calling it the largest public benefit program in the state. Speaking during the introduction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Subhadra Yojana, a program aimed at empowering women, Majhi emphasized that Maa Subhadra represents equality and strength in Jagannath culture.
He said, “If the mother is educated, the country will advance,” and went on to say that a woman’s economic independence also helps the family’s social and financial security.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the Odisha government had launched this ground-breaking program to give women opportunity for economic progress and financial independence.
Majhi thanked Prime Minister Modi for initiating “Subhadra” and mentioned that Modi’s love for his mother served as the model for the creative “Ujwala” program. “After taking office, the Prime Minister realized the suffering and difficulties faced by mothers, which inspired him to launch the massive Ujwala Yojana, which aims to connect impoverished women in India to LPG,” he stated. He continued by saying that the program, which now benefits 10.35 crore women countrywide and 53.20 lakh women in Odisha, has grown to be one of the biggest humanitarian initiatives in the world.
According to Majhi, the Subhadra Yojana would immediately deposit money into the bank accounts of the women beneficiaries in Odisha, enabling them to use it for any purpose they choose, including home businesses, small businesses, or the education of their children.
