Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha, has instructed officials to accelerate important infrastructure, heritage conservation, and tourism projects in Puri, emphasizing that any carelessness or postponement in their execution will not be accepted. The Chief Minister reviewed the status of a number of initiatives at a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan with the goal of making Puri a world-class heritage and tourism destination while protecting the rights of locals and servants and maintaining Lord Jagannath’s rituals.

Majhi gave officials instructions to move quickly to erect the Sri Jagannath Interpretation Center, rebuild the Raghunandan Library, and build the Sri Jagannath International Airport. A new amusement park, the full development of Sri Gundicha Temple, and the building of a new kitchen for Mahaprasad preparation were all considered at the conference. He mandated that street vendors on the Grand Road (Bada Danda) next to Srimandir be immediately rehabilitated and relocated to the vicinity of Sri Setu.

The Chief Minister also examined plans for the construction of Maa Mangala Temple at Kakatpur, Atibadi Jagannath Das’s Satalahadi Math, Gopaljiu Temple at Sakhigopal, and other notable maths in Puri. Among the projects mentioned were the revitalization of Bakulaban and the restoration of Satyabadi Bana Vidyalaya using the old Gurukul format. The restoration of a historic bridge next to Atharanala, the renovation of the Annapurna Theater, the enhancement of Puri Beach, and the overall development of Swargadwar are some of the other significant projects. The plans for Lord Jagannath’s Sagar Bije ceremony and Sandhya Arati were also reviewed.

The meeting further examined road-widening projects connecting Puri with Brahmagiri, Konark and Bhubaneswar, along with developments relating to Sri Jagannath Medical College, Blue Flag Beach, Astaranga Port and Konark Temple.
