The timetable for the flag-hoisting events on August 15, the 78th Independence Day, has been made public by the Odisha government.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will raise the tricolour and take a salute in the state capital of Bhubaneswar, while his deputies KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida will attend the I-Day events in Nuapada and Cuttack, respectively, according to the list of ministers and administrative officers who will take part in the Independence Day ceremonies across the state.
In the event that individuals chosen are unable to arrive at the appointed location owing to unforeseen circumstances, the collector of the district in question would conduct the ceremonial flag hoisting and take a salute on the day, according to a letter from the Home Secretary to the Odisha DGP.
