CM Naveen Inaugurates 5th Odisha Travel Bazaar At Eco Retreat Konark

Today at Eco Retreat Konark, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik essentially opened the fifth edition of the Odisha Travel Bazaar. More than 70 domestic tour operators from 18 states participated in the exhibition and showcased their travel offerings over the three-day spectacular, which received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “In the recent past, Odisha has taken focused strides to develop and introduce several niche tourism experiences. With products which are centered around key tourism offerings to match global standards, Odisha will be able to attract not just the finest brands in business of travel and hospitality but also tourists looking for experientials that are bespoke with a fresh perspective.”

While considering the various tourist attractions that Odisha has to offer, Patnaik greeted the travel industry and asked for its active participation in promoting the State. During this event, Sachin Ramchandra Jadhav, Director of Tourism, gave a presentation on Odisha Tourism’s efforts to promote the State. He stated, “To attract the younger generation of travelers, the State is emphasizing new and innovative products like Eco Retreats, Boat Clubs, Yachts, Caravans, Camping, etc. The State offers sustainable and responsible tourism through its Eco Tour nature camps, which are run by the Forest Department with assistance from the local community.

The significance of Odisha Travel Bazaar was discussed by Lenin Mohanty, Chairman of the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) and CMD Swosti Group. Its purpose is to facilitate interaction between global travel and tourism industry stakeholders and to enable them to experience the state’s tourism offerings. This leads to effective marketing of Odisha to the intended audience, which may include investors and the travel community.
