Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has asked the members of his party’s (BJD) student’s wing to be alert against all the rumours or the fake news circulated on the social media platform regarding any sensitive or essential issue.
CM Patnaik urged his party students to ensure social harmony and to avoid any misinformation misleading the correct information in the society.
During BJD’s State Executive Meeting, CM stated that right now, social media is flooded with misinformation without any correct source. Even often, this misinformation that comes out in social media and mainstream media comes out as a piece of false information.
So he urges the students to fight against the misinformation as, right now, this is the greatest enemy to social harmony. “If we don’t remain alert, it will destroy our society and our unique identity,” CM said.
CM Patnaik attended the meeting through video conference, who called upon the students’ wing to fight against the fake news and further said that it is their duty to fight against the misinformation and bring the truth in front of the people.
He further added that from Sarpanchs to Chairmen at Block levels, Zilla Parishad Presidents, MLAs, Ministers including the Chief Minister and government officials- from entry-level to the State Chief Secretary- will make their property details public.
“Corruption is the biggest enemy of development, and the Odisha government is giving adequate focus on transparency. All such efforts will go in vain if we do not give emphasis on transparency and eliminate corruption,” he added.
Regarding the corruption, actions have been taken against 91 corrupt officials in Odisha in the last one year, claimed CM Patnaik in the meeting.
