Today, two instream storage structures—the Damodarpur instream storage structure in Mayurbhanj district and the Murlijhar project in Kalahandi district—were approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Patnaik approved 86.25 crore rupees in total for these two projects. For the Muralijhar project, he approved Rs 41.25 crore, and for the Damodarpur structure, Rs 45 crore. It is important to note that during his visits to the districts of Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj, 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman V.K. Pandian received proposals for a range of projects. Today the projects were approved by the Chief Minister based on suggestions from the public.
The two projects will meet the needs of the districts of Mayurbhanj and Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi and Badasahi in Mayurbhanj. The initiatives will contribute to rising groundwater levels. These will also be beneficial for fish farming, animal husbandry, and drinking water projects in the area.
