Friday saw the approval by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik of the establishment of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Lakhanpur in the district of Jharsuguda. Rs 24.48 crore was approved by Patnaik for the planned ITI. The District Mineral Fund (DMF) will make money available for this purpose.
It is noteworthy to mention that the Jharsuguda district is rich in minerals. Skilled labor is required for mining and related occupations. The Chief Minister made the decision to open an ITI here with this in mind. In this ITI, training will be provided in nine trades.
Apart from constructing academic and workshop buildings, the authorized funds will also be utilized to acquire various instruments and machinery.
