The chilly winter days are back in Odisha. The winter of 2021- 2022 has been quite exceptional not only for Odisha but also for India. The whole of India has seen temperatures go down quite drastically this winter. Probably after several decades, the temperature in Mumbai has gone down below 15 degrees Celcius.

The condition of Odisha is no different. This year, the winter of Odisha has been quite chilly. Though because of the potential cyclone and low pressure, there have been times where mercury has gone up to a few degrees but on general terms, Odisha has witnessed one of the most chilly winters this wintry season.

On Tuesday the minimum temperature dropped below 11 degrees Celsius at several places as per the Regional Office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here in Bhubaneswar. Daringbadi in the Kandhamal district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9 degrees Celsius.

Whereas Phulbani recorded the minimum temperature of 10 degrees, Titlagarh recorded 10.3degrees and Baripada had the lowest temperature of 10.5 degrees. It is noteworthy that the IMD had predicted a gradual dip of minimum temperature (night time temperature) by 2 degrees Celsius in several parts of the State in the next two to three days.
