This extraordinary woman is none other than Mrs Sushmita Mohanty , who seldom needs an introduction or a spotlight to illuminate her calibre or glories galore.
Her epic journey for garnering name and fame under the sun and stars began with her venturing into the world of Jurisprudence as an intern legal practitioner at the Delhi High Court where within a short span , she singularly set a benchmark for others to emulate in the years to come . She shone brightly and set a sparkling example of women folk at the forefront of multifaceted legal enterprises and subsequent achievements . It was indeed a validation of her hard work , sagacious maturity and initiative that she had honed as a Gold Medalist in her BA LLB from Utkal University.
She entered the holy world of matrimony at an early phase of her life as she was welcomed by the Fraternity of the Olive Greens – the Indian Army , where she got multiple opportunities to showcase her skills with equal aplomb- culinary, interior decorator, domestic obligations, social bonhomie, professional wisdom and grace but above all to keep the Army Unit as one cohesive tight knit family . Her credentials as Secretary Ladies Club or as a Unit Level President of Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) are folklore stuff . She energized, revolutionized and modified these roles to such extraordinary proportions that it has inspired new generations of Army wives who have joined the world of the Olive Greens . The accolades that she has had over the past 20 odd years find a place of pride and majestically adorn the walls of her cerebral museum and that satisfaction of it all is hers to keep and cherish . Each Lady in the Army- from the top echelon to the lowest , preaches and practices the sagacious words and actions that Sushmita had very lovingly taught . It would indeed be incorrect, a folly of sorts , to put all her achievements in mere words to sum up all that she has done to bond the better halves of the Army together as stronger , wiser and more sure of themselves savvy ladies , ready to take on any challenge that the world has to offer.
With her insatiable hunger for many a milestones to conquer, notwithstanding the continuous postings of her Spouse to various Garrisons within the country, the growing up of her two children from their age of innocence faster than she could think of , she ventured into the world of Business and shattered the traditional barrier of home/family and her unbridled passion for things exotic and ethereal made her establish her very own enterprise – Moro by Sush , an NGO, in 2014. This venture saw her at the forefront of providing vocational training to women , making them self sufficient , self reliant and street savvy. Her exploits at Moro has been legendary and the brand name has now become a Revered cult and is a global trend setter.
In her series of Vedi Vidi Vici moments( though there are many more to come) , she decided to recalibrate and revamp her role as an intrepid entrepreneur being at the helm of Metro TV , Odisha.
Her mantra- become the beacon of hope , faith, truth, authenticity and commitment in the fast paced ever changing world of Mass Comn and Journalism . Her vision and resolution to keep the News Channel stand out for its excellent research and output on Odia life and times ,capturing the rich and varied culture, glorious history, ethos , cult spirituality revolving around Lord Jaganath and time tested traditions is a testament to her unwavering commitment to the Fourth Estate . News and its mesmerizing effects by Metro media for us Social animals have been the singular act of Sushmita as she has embarked to live up to the motto of Metro News- “Har Ghar Khabar” . An apt motto indeed that translates to “News in every house”. The media house has a dedicated , devoted and dynamic cohesive team that provides a robust , on time and authentic digital media coverage to the remotest part of the country .
