COVID 19 has hit a girl’s school in the district of Mayurbhanj. O Sunday, more than 40 students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya (KGBV) in Kaptipada of Mayurbhanj district tested positive for the virus. Â While more samples are still taken, the number of infections in the school might raise even high.
The steep rising of COVID 19 cases in educational institutes of Odisha is giving a major threat to the impending doom of the third COVID wave. Following the report of the Covid-19 spread, a medical team from Kaptipada visited the educational institution and collected samples of students, teachers, and other staff.Â
Those who have so far been tested positive in antigen tests will undergo the RT-PCR test. Similarly, arrangements have been made to shift Covid-19 negative students to separate places, sources said.
It is high time the state government decides whether to continue educational institutes or make online classes as more students grip into the fearful infection of COVID 19.
