Bijay Shankar Das, the sitting MLA of Tirol is in more trouble as with Jagatsinghpur superintendent of police (SP) requested the Odisha Crime Branch to investigate the alleged running of a sex racket by the legislator.
According to the reports, Somalika Dash, the girlfriend and wife-to-be of the Tirtol MLA, last month had lodged a complaint with police alleging that the lawmaker was operating a sex racket to raise money for election expenses. The complaint was lodged on June 18, soon after the Bijay Shankar did not turn up for marriage with Somalika at the Registrar of Marriage office at Jagatsinghpur.
Acting on the FIR, Jagatsinghpur SP on July 4 wrote to the additional DG of police, Crime Branch to pass an order to take up the case by the Crime Branch for a detailed investigation into the allegations of the complainant.
The SP stated that the complainant also wants that the investigation of the case may be taken up by CID, CB, and Odisha for an impartial investigation.
