Citizen-friendly and powered by technology At the 17th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) service, which is an Odisha government project, was named the “City with the Best Public Transport system” in the nation. Every year, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, organizes the conference. Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, presented the award to Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Minister, Department of Housing & Urban Development, at Gandhinagar on October 27.
“This award is more than just a trophy; it represents our shared dedication to creating a sustainable future under the Viksit Odisha vision,” Dr. Mahapatra stated during his remarks at the conference. The way people commute in Odisha has changed as a result of our dedication to improving public transportation. We have increased our network, adopted cutting-edge technology, and put passenger accessibility and safety first.
Earlier, in front of the Minister of the H&UD Department and Dr. N Thirumala Naik, IAS, CRUT’s managing director, CRUT inked an agreement with Open Network for Digital Network (ONDC). The Government of Odisha has started preparing for the release of “Odisha Yatri,” a revolutionary mobility software, in a major step to improve inclusive and sustainable urban mobility. In collaboration with ONDC, this project supports the state’s overarching goal of “Viksit Odisha,” which aims to empower drivers and enhance consumer experiences throughout the state.
CRUT was founded six years ago and runs Mo Bus and Mo E-Ride, which promote environmentally friendly transportation options. CRUT has been the lifeblood for residents of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela, Berhampur, and Sambalpur because of its customer-centric attitude.
