The majority of the state is projected to see severe to very heavy rainfall for four days beginning September 30, according to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.

According to the department’s report, a cyclonic circulation has developed over Myanmar and the nearby east-central Bay of Bengal. According to the IMD, a low-pressure region is predicted to develop over the adjacent northeast Bay of Bengal and east-central Bangladesh over the next 24 hours.

Over the next 48 hours, the low-pressure system is projected to develop into a well defined low-pressure area and proceed toward the beaches of north Odisha and neighboring West Bengal. Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall activities are likely to be experienced in Odisha during September 30 and October 3.
