India’s newest chess sensation, Gukesh , has taken his victory lap in a rather adventurous way. Just days after clinching the title of FIDE World Chess Champion in an intense and dramatic Game 14 against Ding Liren of China, the 18-year-old grandmaster decided to celebrate in style—by going for his first-ever bungee jump in Singapore.
Fresh off his historic win, where he defeated the defending champion in a stunning series that saw him triumph in Games 3 and 11, Gukesh sealed his victory with the black pieces in Game 14, becoming the youngest-ever World Chess Champion. He is also only the second Indian to achieve this prestigious title, following in the footsteps of Viswanathan Anand.
To mark this monumental achievement, Gukesh headed to Sentosa Skypark in Singapore, where he took the plunge—literally—into the world of adventure sports.
