For the second time in February, the highest day temperature in Bhubaneswar surpassed 35°C, while on Sunday, temperatures in 14 locations in Odisha hit 35°C or higher. The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) regional office in Bhubaneswar reports that the state capital saw a high temperature of 35.4°C today.
The state’s warmest spot was Paralakhemundi in the Gajapati district, where the highest temperature reached 36.6°C. Jharsuguda and Angul were next, with 36.2°C and 36.1°C, respectively. In Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Titlagarh, and Boudh, the daytime temperature was 36°C. The highest reported temperatures were 35.8°C in Dhenkanal, 35.6°C in Hirakud, 35.5°C in Bhadrak, and 35°C in Baripada. Sambalpur and Sonepur recorded 35.7°C.
The IMD predicts that during the following three days, shallow to moderate fog is likely to form in a number of locations throughout Odisha, and that nighttime temperatures will likely climb gradually by 2°C to 3°C.
