The season of Navratri is approaching, followed by Durga Puja and Dussehra to bring celebrations and prayer meetings to a close! The festivities never stop in India, and our cultural legacy is a reminder of the battles we have withstood and the love we have for our way of life!
The Navratri are 9 days and nights of remembering the Mother and her divine forms. Adorning colours and drapes in her honour, for she brings happiness, cheer, and love in our lives!
Devi Maa (as many of us refer to the deities) reminds us of:
1. Spreading love and never losing control over our minds
2. Seeking happiness in passion projects and working towards a larger goal
3. Never disrespect the people who believe in you, and pass the gratitude forward
4. Be an enabler and provide a righteous path for those who are distracted
5. Genders don’t define people. Coexistence and consistent efforts do
6. The divine shines when women and men share positive energies
Dear Mother, as the festival of unity approaches, we observe a fast to remember your love, blessings, fury, and divine power. You guide us before we think of going astray, meditating and remembering you during the day, placing trust because you always want the best for us.
Dear Divine Mother, give us the strength to live our lives with positivity, build resilience to defy naysayers and journey ahead with your teachings, strotas, and soul-satisfying bhajans.
