A day after the artificial rain attempt in Delhi failed to yield the desired outcome, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur announced that Wednesday’s scheduled cloud seeding operation (October 29) has been postponed due to “insufficient moisture in the clouds.”
In an official statement, IIT Kanpur emphasized that the success of the process depends heavily on favorable atmospheric conditions.
The Delhi government, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, conducted two cloud seeding trials on Tuesday. According to reports by Hindustan Times, the experiments cost approximately ₹1.28 crore in total.
