The Devasnana Purnima or Snana Yatra rituals of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at Puri Srimandir commenced on Tuesday with devotees being able to witness the divine bathing ritual of the Lords, after a gap of two years.
Going as per times fixed by the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), the rituals began after 3:30 am starting with Mangalaparna. Later, the deities were ushered from Ratna Singhasan to Snana Bedi in Dhadi Pahandi.
Lord Balabhadra being the eldest was the first to arrive on Snana Bedi followed by Goddess Subhadra and Lord Jagannath towing in the end. Similar ritual of Dhadi Pahandi was observed for the trio and Lord Sudarshan.
The ‘Chera Pahanra’ is scheduled to be conducted at 12:15 pm which will be followed by the much-awaited ‘Hathi Besha’ from 12:45 pm followed by Bahuda Pahandi.
