Bhubaneswar: Dr. P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is set to arrive in Jharsuguda on Thursday evening for a series of important engagements, including attending the convocation ceremony at IIM Sambalpur as the chief guest.
Although his initial flight faced a minor delay due to technical issues and temporary runway repairs at the Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda, swift coordination by authorities ensured the matter was resolved promptly. The flight, which had been diverted to Bhubaneswar as a precautionary measure, is expected to land in Jharsuguda by 7:15 PM.
Senior officials, including the RDC (Northern Range), IG, Jharsuguda Collector, and SP, are on-site to receive Dr. Mishra upon arrival. Security arrangements have been strengthened in anticipation of his visit.
Following his arrival, Dr. Mishra will proceed to Sambalpur, where he will stay overnight and offer prayers at the revered Maa Samaleswari Temple. On Saturday, he will grace the convocation of IIM Sambalpur, a key event celebrating academic excellence and innovation in management education.
Dr. Mishra, a distinguished 1972-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, has served as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister since September 2019 and plays a pivotal role in shaping policy and governance at the highest level.
His visit underscores the Centre’s continued engagement with Odisha’s development and academic institutions.
