Draft Architectural Plan For Konark Heritage Corridor Project Releases By CM

The Odisha Government released the draft architectural plan for the Konark heritage corridor project which will be converted as a tourist destination of international standard.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conducted a meeting with senior officials where it was discussed the process of the embellishment and the design of the proposed project through a virtual meeting.

During the meeting, CM Patnaik stated that Konark temple has international significance, and every year millions of tourists visit the heritage across the world. To which it is imperative to develop the infrastructure and its perimeter. The sun temple is devoted to the sun god and represents Odisha’s richness.  In 1984, the Konark temple was chosen as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, and the conservation of the temple is Odisha’s sole responsibility.

CM in the meeting further illustrated that the project’s main aim is to improve facilities for the tourists and visitors along with increase the security of the temple, opportunities for local business people, and overall development of people of Konark and Puri district.

Regarding the developments and new facilities, CM further stated that a six-laning of the outer ring road would be constructed along with the development of the local roads leading to the temple, facilities for local traders and proper landscaping of the peripheral areas will be done as a part of this project.

Meanwhile, proper signage, pointers, an entry plaza and multi-modal parking hub will be developed.

Along with CM Naveen Patnaik, Minister Tushar Kanti Behera, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian and senior officials were present at the virtual meeting where they discussed regarding the development of the Sun Temple in Odisha.
