e-Transfer of Rs. 2,706 Cr. To MAMATA Yojana Beneficiaries’ Bank Accounts

On Wednesday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed the department’s goals and accomplishments as well as the fulfillment of the promises made in the manifesto. Basanti Hembram, the minister of women’s and children’s development, provided information on how the department’s transformational efforts over the previous four years have helped it achieve its goals and meet the promises made in the election platform.

Later, during a press conference, Hembram stated that MAMATA, the state of Odisha’s flagship program, is a conditional cash transfer maternity benefit program with the goal of lowering infant and maternal mortality by enhancing the nutritional and health status of expectant and nursing mothers and their children. More than 56 lakh pregnant women and lactating mothers, children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years, and teenage females have benefited from it since its launch in 2011.

Beneficiaries’ bank accounts have received an electronic transfer of Rs. 2,706 crores. It has directly aided in improving the health of lactating moms, newborns, and pregnant women. E-Mamata 2.0 has been launched as part of the Department’s 5T strategy and to foster more accountability and openness.

Since 2014, PVTGs have received relaxation for more than two live births. A total of 22,733 PVTG women have benefited. The Chief Minister of Odisha introduced a mobile app under ST efforts on February 25, 2021. Through this app, AWWs may update all information on expectant and nursing mothers in order to get their cash payments promptly and without any problems. The smartphone app has been utilized by more than 99% of expectant mothers. Beneficiaries have received more than 17.86 lakh SMS notifications on the transfer of payments.
