There was a state of panic main residents in several parts of Odisha. Wild elephants in many regions of the state, went into residential areas and created ruckus. Crops were samaved, properties were destroyed and even one person was killed in all the elephant attacks.

Fagu Hansdah of Bajarsul village under Jaleswar block of Balasore district died in elephant attack early morning today. According to sources, he had gone outside to attend natures’ call when he was attacked by a tusker. He died on the spot.
In another incident, a lone elephant separated from its herd destroyed acres of standing vegetable and paddy crops in villages under Bonai forest range in Sundargarh district.
In a similar incident, a herd of elephants went into a village of the Khurda district and damaged many houses and crops. The locals then rushed to the police and before taking actions, the elephants went onto other directions.
