A major anti-terror operation is underway in Jammu and Kashmir’s Lidwas area near Dara, where the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed the neutralisation of three terrorists under “Operation Mahadev.”
The encounter began after security forces received inputs about suspicious movement in the region, which is known for its challenging terrain and popular trekking routes. Acting swiftly, the forces launched a combing operation on Monday, establishing contact with the suspected militants.
According to official statements from the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps, contact was made with the terrorists in the early hours of the operation, leading to an exchange of fire. The area has since been cordoned off, and search operations are ongoing to ensure the region is fully secured.
“Operation Mahadev” is part of a broader counter-terrorism effort aimed at flushing out militants from difficult terrain along the Kashmir Valley.
