EOW To Quiz Bollywood Actor Govinda In Rs 1,000 Cr Online Ponzi Scam

Actor Govinda from Bollywood will be questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in relation to the investigation into the Rs 1000 crore Solar Techno Alliance pan-Indian internet Ponzi scheme. According to EOW Dy. SP Sasmita Sahoo, because Govinda attended the blockchain technology launch event for Solar Techno Alliance (STA) in Goa, we want to either call him to appear before EOW or maybe send a team to Mumbai to find out how much of a part he played and why he had gone there.

Sahoo continued by saying that more research is being done. While STA was introduced in 2021, the EOW Dy SP noted that Govinda has introduced its blockchain technology in Goa in 2023. She claimed that the fact that it is being introduced by Bollywood actor Govinda may have had an impact on potential new investors. She went on to say that it may have served as a driving element for the investors to be persuaded and think it was something real.

Sahoo speculated that perhaps Gurtej Singh Sidhu, the national head for STA, invited the Bollywood celebrity on purpose to increase public confidence that it is a cryptocurrency investment rather than a Ponzi scam. She stated that EOW has already begun a financial probe to determine the route taken by the Rs 1000 crore involved in the fraud throughout its circulation. She went on to ask whether it was being spread domestically or outside. The EOW Dy SP said that the EOW in Odisha had interviewed a number of witnesses and that the agency was receiving emails from others outside the state who had also been defrauded and were asking for assistance.
