The Farm protest has entered the tenth day as the talks among the Centre and the farmers continued to remain uncertain. On 8th December, the farmers have declared Bharat Bandh and warned to occupy the toll plaza and continue to protest against the central government.
Harinder Singh Lakhowal, the General Secretary of Bharatiya Kisan Union, stated that the farmers would continue to protest against the Central Government and the corporate houses and the sportspersons to return their medals in solidarity the farmers.

Amarinder Singh, the Chief Minister, supported the Akali Dal Stalwart Parkash Singh’s decision to return his Padma Vibhushan. Recently Badal returned his Padma Vibhushan, which he won for the 1965 war with Pakistan. He returned the honor in protest against the Centre’s new Farm laws, where thousands of Punjab farmers protest at the Delhi borders.

CM Singh further stated that Badal had been maintaining all his life that he represents the farmers’ interest and he has made a big sacrifice by returning the award. He even slammed Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi for allegedly twisting his statement on national security. The AAP had targeted Singh for associating the farmers’ agitation with national security.

Even Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann announced that he would not accept the State government’s ‘Shiromani Punjabi’ Award. He decided to do this in solidarity with farmers, protesting against the new central farm laws. Even several other Punjabi singers and artists like Kanwar Grewal, Sidhu Moosewala, Babbu Maan, and Harf Cheema have supported the farmers’ agitation for the last several months. Mann also attended the farmer’s protest at the Delhi borders.
