The boat carrying about eight fishermen allegedly collapsed in the water on Tuesday near Paradip in the Odisha district of Jagatsinghpur. Sources claim that the accident occurred when the fishermen were returning from fishing close to Nehru Bungalow. There were eight fisherman on board, and they were said to have vanished.
After the accident, local fisherman started a search and rescue effort. The fisherman are being sought after. According to early reports, the fishing vessel “Maa Basulei Bharasa” capsized while it was making its way back to shore after being struck by a strong tidal close to Nehru Bungalow.
It was reported that members of the Marine Police and ODRAF had arrived at the scene to conduct a rescue effort. More information is awaited.
