On Saturday, Akash Das Nayak, an actor and former MLA, left the Biju Janata Dal primary membership.
In a video statement, the actor-turned-politician declared, “I have chosen to leave BJD after paying attention to my inner voice. For the sake of my dignity and the dignity of the people of Korei, I left the party. I will consult with my supporters and the people of Korei before determining my next move.
Akash, who served as the Jajpur district’s Korei seat MLA from 2014 to 2019, was hoping for a BJD ticket this time. In the 2019 elections, Mo College Abhiyan chairman Akash was not given a party ticket.
