Former OSCPCR Chairperson Sandhyabati Pradhan Quits BJD

On Monday, Sandhyabati Pradhan, the former chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR), announced her resignation from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

Naveen Patnaik, the president of the BJD, has received Pradhan’s resignation. She claims that because the BJD president is surrounded by a clique, their voices are not getting through to him.

Born in Muninda, a village in Puri district’s Delang block, Pradhan served as vice president of the Zilla Parishad after first joining the Puri Zilla Parishad. She has been on the District Planning Committee as well.
