Popular Ollywood actor Anubhav Mohanty, MP for Kendrapara, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday. At the BJP’s national headquarters in New Delhi, Mohanty became a member. Vinod Tawde, the senior leader of the saffron party, greeted Mohanty with open arms.
The well-known movie actress resigned from the primary membership of the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) two days ago. The BJD president Naveen Patnaik received a resignation letter from the Kendrapara MP. Mohanty enlisted with the BJD on April 27, 2013. On a BJD ticket, he was elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2014. He was the newest member of the Rajya Sabha.
In 2019, the BJD fielded Mohanty to compete against Baijayant Panda of the BJP for the Lok Sabha seat in Kendrapara. He became the Lok Sabha’s new member after defeating Panda. But it’s said that the BJD has marginalized him in recent years.
