Ghaziabad: 35-Year-Old Woman Falls From High-Rise Stairs After Dog Attack; FIR Registered

A 35-year-old woman suffered multiple injuries, including head and hand injuries, after allegedly being attacked and chased by her neighbour’s two pet German Shepherds in a high-rise at Raj Nagar Extension, police said.

The incident took place on August 18 when the woman, identified as Nishi, stepped out of her flat to leave for work. While she was waiting for the lift, the dogs allegedly attacked her. As she tried to escape through the corridor, she slipped on the staircase and sustained internal injuries along with a head injury.

Following a complaint by her father, Alok Jain, an FIR was registered on August 19 at Nandgram police station under Section 291 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (negligent conduct with respect to animals).

Jain alleged that this was not the first such incident, claiming the same dogs had earlier attacked his minor granddaughter in June, leaving her in shock for days. “Despite informing the police then, no strict action was taken,” he said.

Police said further investigation is underway.
