International pop singer Rihanna extended her support to the ongoing farmer protest in India via Twitter questions the shutdown of the internet services which has been imposed at the protest sites in Delhi.
Rihanna Twitter along with a link to a CNN article headlined – ‘India cuts internet around New Delhi as protesting farmers clash with police’ where she wrote -: “Why aren’t we talking about this? #FarmersProtest .”
As soon as she twitted her tweet was liked by more than two lakh times and retweeted almost one lakh. Her Tweet received many positive responses and the Kisan Ekta Morcha handle responded by tweeting- “Glad! Thanks @rihanna for expressing your concern towards the ongoing farmers protest. ‘Hopeful’ that the masses stand by the truth. the Whole world can see but why can’t govt??”.

But Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut did not support the international pop singer’s support for the farmers and tweeted calling her a fool and dummy. Reacting to her tweet, Kangana wrote: “No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like the USA… Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies.”

Social activist Greta Thunberg also extended her support to the Farmer’s protest. Soon after Rihanna’s Tweet, Greta Tweeted- “We stand in solidarity with #farmersprotest in India”.

Due to the violence on the ongoing protest of farmers at Delhi border due to the three Agricultural-Farm Law, the Ministry of Home Affairs commanded the shutdown of internet services in the border areas of Singh, Ghazipur and Tikri from Saturday, while the Haryana government has cut off connectivity in seven districts at least.
