Violence in Delhi erupted across the country during farmers ’tractor rally on Republic Day. Offensive hashtags were trending on multiple Twitter accounts after the violence. Now, on the orders of the Union Ministry of Electronics and IT, Twitter India has blocked more than 250 accounts. These accounts have been accused of sparking rumors of the peasant movement. The hashtag #ModiPlanningFarmerGenocide was launched over the peasant movement. The hashtag means that the Modi government is preparing to kill farmers. It was trending on Twitter.
The hashtag has been in the lead since Saturday. Many Twitter / Twitter accounts like this were managed from abroad. Many of the suspended accounts / tweets were related to farmers ‘organizations and farmers’ leaders. Blocked accounts include accounts such as Farmer Unity Front, The Carbon, Manik Goyal, Tractor2twitr, Kisanektamorcha and jatt_junction.

Notably, internet services were shut down for a few days in and around Ghazipur, Tikri and Singhu Border and its envirns. Which was opposed by farmers.
