The state government has directed collectors to arrange a special screening of the Odia film DAMaN for district and sub-division officials. Apart from the dedicated efforts of healthcare professionals, the film chronicles malaria eradication efforts in hard-to-reach areas of the state. The film has been declared tax-free by the state government.
In an order, Shalini Pandit, secretary of Health and Family Welfare, directed all collectors to arrange special screenings at theatres at the district or sub-divisional levels, depending on availability. “This film conveys a positive message about the implementation of health-care programmes through the collaboration of government and people in hard-to-reach areas.” “Special screenings at various levels will motivate the dedicated and hardworking officials,” she explained.
