Some Khalistani extremists in Canada vandalised the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple in Toronto on Wednesday in an unprovoked attack and wrote anti-India graffiti on it. In several videos shared on social media, the temple’s walls were painted with the slogans “Khalistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad.” The incident was denounced by the Indian High Commission, which also announced that it had asked the Canadian authorities to look into the matter.
“We vehemently condemn the anti-India graffiti that was daubed on the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto. have asked the Canadian government to look into the incident and act quickly against anyone responsible,” the high commission tweeted. The words “Khalistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad” were spray-painted on the temple walls in several social media videos. Six Hindu temples were attacked in Toronto in February of this year. The attackers took ornaments from the idols that were taken, as well as cash from donation boxes.
