The “myCGHS” software, which offers security features like two-factor authentication and mPIN capability, was released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Wednesday for the iOS ecosystem of devices. The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) app is intended to improve participants’ access to Electronic Health Records, data, and resources.
For CGHS, the myCGHS app represents a significant advancement in the delivery of healthcare services. Beneficiaries of CGHS are empowered by having easy access to vital healthcare features at their fingertips. Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra stated, “This initiative is in line with the government’s vision of utilizing technology to enhance the quality and accessibility of healthcare services.”
The ministry claims that a variety of services can be facilitated by the myCGHS app, such as online appointment scheduling and cancellation, downloading CGHS cards and index cards, accessing lab reports from CGHS labs, reviewing prescription history, monitoring the status of medical reimbursement claims, retrieving referral information, finding nearby wellness centers, and more.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) Himachal Pradesh and the NIC Health Team’s technical teams are responsible for developing the app. The myCGHS app can now be downloaded for free on the iOS and Android operating systems.
