As of right now, the water level in the Hirakud Reservoir has risen to 620.50 feet. Four sluice gates—three on the left and one on the right—have been opened to control the reservoir’s water level and guarantee the safe flow of surplus water.
The reservoir is seeing a notable influx of 2,52,455 cusecs, while the outflow is 31,525 cusecs, according to data released by the reservoir officials. The power channel, which is releasing 27,444 cusecs of water, is one of the channels used to control the outflow. In addition, 3,039 cusecs of water are being diverted via several canals, and 214 cusecs being set aside for industrial usage.
