The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on Wednesday, clarified that there is no evidence linking COVID-19 vaccines to the recent rise in sudden deaths caused by heart attacks. The ministry’s statement is based on extensive studies carried out by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to the findings, the COVID-19 vaccines administered in India are both safe and effective, with serious side effects being extremely rare. The ministry emphasized that sudden cardiac deaths can occur due to a variety of reasons such as genetic predispositions, underlying health conditions, lifestyle choices, and complications following a COVID-19 infection.
Health experts have warned against misinformation, stating that claims linking vaccines to sudden deaths are scientifically unfounded and misleading. The ministry urged the public to trust evidence-based findings and continue adhering to vaccination and health guidelines.
