With humble beginnings in a thatched roof house and nine children on board, Mother’s Public School commenced its journey in inclusive, holistic education. Today, the school ranks amongst the premium education providers in Bhubaneswar, with a student count of around 6000. The school is famous too. Initially starting as a daycare centre cum pre-school named ‘Prakrit’ by Mrs Poly Patnaik in 1992 to help working parents by providing day boarding facilities for their children, the school has grown to be an iconic institution.
Currently, the school is managed by the young and dynamic Mr. Srejeet Patnaik, the son of Mrs Poly Patnaik. He is now carrying forward his mother’s legacy as the school’s managing director. Srejeet himself is a student of Mother’s Public School who later pursued mechanical engineering and topped it with an MBA in HR.

The emergence of Mother’s Public School as a unique citadel of learning has been possible because of its inherent strengths in nurturing young individuals. A student in this educational institution is naturally strengthened not just by the love and warmth of the mentors but by the strict reminders of discipline and rigour. The school’s ideology does not believe in punishment rather awareness and a heightened sense of responsibility in students, thereby enhancing the productivity of every individual.
Mother’s Public School emphasizes developing a variety of skills in a child by providing complete academic competency. Their curriculum is essential for debates, speeches, group discussions, news reading activities, spell-a-thons, poster making, and art-related competitions. Sports training begins with the required diligence in the early years and continues until senior secondary levels. Yoga, NCC, annual camps, and various expeditions like partaking in cycling or running for awareness on social causes, etc., profoundly impact young individuals’ character. Quizzing is a much-loved activity among our students, with the school winning major trophies every year.

Mr Srejeet Patnaik feels honoured to receive the award for the best educational institute of Odisha by the Interview Times as it shows that Mother’s Public School is on the right track. When asked about his vision for the future, Srejeet said, “We have just started expanding in a big way to different locations. I do understand the next few years are very critical. We have a long way to go as we are committed to educating our children with lots of love and care.”
Mother’s Public School has five schools, of which 3 are in Bhubaneswar and one at Puri. Very soon, they will start school in Rourkela as well. In the future, they plan to open schools in smaller cities, thereby expanding the reach of qualitative all-around education to as many potential students as possible.
