Interview Times Today, the Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) has been held by vigilance on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The incident is of Narasinghpur Police Station in Cuttack district.
As per reports, IIC Alekh Gardia had demanded the above amount from a complainant to arrest the accused persons involved in an SC/ST Act case registered on his complaint in Narasinghpur Police Station in September 2021.
On the basis of the reports, a complaint, vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Gardia while accepting the bribe. Subsequently, simultaneous house searches are being conducted at his official quarters and paternal house at Bhandarimal in Sambalpur.
