Imposing of Second Nationwide Lockdown in the Country? The pace of the Corona Virus pandemic seems to be accelerating once again with the resurge of Covid-19 cases around the world. Therefore, Britain has announced Lockdown-2 after France, looking towards to the alarming rise in Covid-19 cases in the country.
After coming across this shocking news, the question arises as to whether India too will enter into a second national lockdown or not.
Recently, AIIMS Delhi Director Dr. Randeep Guleria warned that the second wave of coronavirus has started in India. He asked the public to not leave the house unless very urgent. He also warned people about the growing number of coronary heart disease cases across the country. The AIIMS director said the corona infection was on the rise due to negligence and air pollution. Proper precautions should be taken in this situation. Otherwise, the situation could turn dire.
According to the latest data from the Union Ministry of Health, 46,254 cases of coronary heart disease have been reported in India in the last 24 hours on Wednesday, while the number of cases has reached 83 lakhs. However, the number of patients recovering from coronary disease in the country has exceeded 7.6 million. The total number of Covid-19 patients in India so far has reached 83,13,877 in number.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, through a video message from the Prime Minister’s official Twitter handle, announced the second phase of blockade in his country to be applicable from November 5. The lockdown will continue until December 2. He added that the government after reviewing situation till December will take the next decisions.
Besides, the French government has also launched a second lockdown in the wake of the sudden rise in the number of Corona cases in Europe. Hours before the locks closed, the people of Paris decided to leave the city. By 7 p.m., traffic was so heavy that cars were stretched for 700 kilometres on the road. The lockdown has been re-enforced in France until December 1.
Panicked over the reports from the Western countries, the people of India are now in fear of witnessing the second national lockdown. While reports say that there has been a drop in Covid-19 cases reported in a single day in the country. Currently there is no possibility of any nationwide lockdown but the responsibility of awareness rests within all of us.
As of November 1, the country has more than 11 crore people with coronary heart disease. While it is reassuring that where there were 97,000 cases a day, the number has halved in the last few days, but the number of victims in many states is on the rise.
Further, Dr. NN Mathur of Lady Harding Medical College says, the coronavirus situations vary from country to country depending on many factors. While, the number of Covid-19 infections in India is declining. But if there is a framework of growth in Covid-19 cases in one state, the trend may change in other states as well.
In Western countries, the second phase of lockdown has been implemented in full fledge but if the number of victims in India increases, the state and central governments will take any necessary steps after reviewing the economic situation.
So, we can say that there are chances of only small lockdowns in small areas or cities. No complete nationwide lockdown is possible, as of now.
